What is Lipa pole pole cars in Kenya
This is vehicle financing in summary. There are 2 types of lipa pole pole
–Financial instututions financing – In this type, banks or other financial instituitions provides car financing wih the cars themselves acting as securityt. This financing is usually available for upto 4 to 5 years depending on the respective institution. The advantage of this type of financing is lower initial deposit and also lower monthly payments. Applicants will usually have to have good credit scores to qualify for the financing
–Inhouse financing/Hire purchase – This financing is where a car dealer offers the financing inhouse. Its mostly popular in Mombasa based car dealerships. Repayment period is usually from 8 months upto 15 months depending on the car dealership. As in the financial institution type of financing, the car themselves are the security for the loan. Deposit is usuallly from 40% of the cost of the car onwards. Disadvantages include higher deposit and higher monthly payments. Usually people with low credit scores can access this type of financing as CRB status is not checked
